CBD and Inflammation

Left unchecked inflammation can be the source of pain and a variety of health challenges from knee pain to stroke. When you’re talking about remaining healthy, reducing inflammation comes up often. From sports exertion to aging, heartburn to arthritis, inflammation plays a major role. Inflammation actually serves an essential function in the body. When the body is under stress or injury, it’s the means by which it repairs itself. Duress could be as minimal as a bug bite, or as severe as an infection or tumor. When the body senses trouble it releases chemicals to fight the issue. Once the problem is corrected so should the inflammation. But when the body doesn’t return to ‘normal’ the inflammation can become chronic keeping the body on high alert and circulating ‘danger’ chemicals within your system wearing out tissues and nerves—resulting in pain or tissue destruction.

So what can we do to prevent the potentially debilitation effects of inflammation? Here’s a few ideas.

  • Attack from within: cut sugar, acids, and foods that put the body in a hyper state.
  • Choose foods wisely. Feed the body what it needs most.
  • Address injuries and allow the proper healing methods and time.
  • Lose weight (fat cells trigger immune responses much like an infection)
  • Exercise regularly. Allow the blood to circulate and restore oxygen levels
  • Avoid high calorie fats, refined carbohydrates, full-fat dairy, red meat and artificial sweeteners
  • Add to your diet anti-inflammatory foods—berries, fruits, leafy greens, salmon and oily fish, garlic, whole grains, nuts, olive oil.
  • External CBD rubs used on the spot of inflammation is showing great success
  • Internal CBD is demonstrating great results with chronic pain and inflammation

Don’t have trouble with inflammation—that’s great. Have a minor issue—pay attention! Curbing inflammation can have a great effect on future diseases. There is a line your body will cross over into serious inflammation and tissue destruction and it’s so much easier to manage before you cross over that line. If you are already experiencing ‘over the line’ chronic pain, there’s great news! It’s never too late to begin the steps above to manage the consequences of inflammation.
